Alone有形容词和副词两种形式，我们只列出形容词
1.When you are alone, you are not with any other people.
2.If you say that you are alone or feel alone, you mean that nobody who is with you, or nobody at all, cares about you.
3.If one person is alone with another person, or if two or more people are alone, they are together, without anyone else present.

第一种含义稍显消极，表明“再无他人”，例句

Lonely只有形容词型式

1.Someone who is lonely is unhappy because they are alone or do not have anyone they can talk to.
2.A lonely situation or period of time is one in which you feel unhappy because you are alone or do not have anyone to talk to.
Lonely的意思很单纯，如果用来形容人，就是感觉寂寞孤独；如果用来形容时期或者情况，就是“坐冷板凳”；如果用来形容地方，就是偏僻不毛。这三种含义都是消极负面的。例句
1.lonely people who just want to talk. …只想聊聊天的孤独的人。
2.I desperately needed something to occupy me during those long, lonely nights. 在那些漫长而又孤独的夜晚我拼命想找点事做。
3.It felt like the loneliest place in the world. 这就像是世界上最偏僻的地方。
此外还有两件事需要说明，
1.Be/get alone with someone (与某人独处)，不要与get along with someone (与某人交好)混淆。川普在竞选演讲时常常使用get along with someone,来显示他团结朋友的能力。
